URBAN AND INDUSTRIAL FIRE TRAINING FACILITIES

Training of firefighters and other agents that integrate teams of first and second intervention in urban and industrial fires

The facility has four areas:

Training Camp

Outdoor gas and fuel training props

In the outdoor gas and fuel training props area exercises are performed with first intervention equipment (extinguishers and reel) and with second intervention equipment (hose lines).

LIVE FIRE TRAINING STRUCTURE

The Live fire training structure area consists of three units:

Multipurpose unit without fire

where it is possible to carry out exercises to adapt to the open circuit breathing apparatus, progression exercises in confined spaces, exercises of search and rescue, exercises of forced opening of accesses, etc.

Fixed Fire Unit in Enclosed Spaces

Area where it is possible to observe the behavior of a fire in a confined space and to perform operations in confined spaces with real fire in solid fuels

Mobile Fire Unit in Enclosed Spaces

where it is possible to carry out operations in confined spaces with real fire in liquid fuels.

URBAN AND INDUSTRIAL FIRE TRAINING FACILITIES

Training of firefighters and other agents that integrate teams of first and second intervention in urban and industrial fires

The facility has four areas:

Drill tower area

The drill tower area, designed for height rescue training, consists of a 14-meter high metal tower (certified for the fire service) and a pole supporting very high voltage electric lines.

SUPPORT BULDING

The support building integrates sanitary facilities, bathhouse (male and female), storage for personal protective equipment and a room for briefing and debriefing.

FORMATIONS / SERVICES

The ENB has a set of training programs with standard content. However, the program content and the duration of each action can be adapted according to the needs of the recipients.

The Training Facility of the Portugal National Fire Service School meets the requirements for accomplishment of training actions as established in the norms:

  • NFPA® 1001 - Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications;
  • NFPA® 1404 - Standard for Fire Service Respiratory Protection Training;
  • UK National Occupational Standard SFJ CFF01 - Respond to operational incidents requiring breathing apparatus.

In this scope we offer the following training actions:

− Operations with Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) * - 16 hours;

GENERAL OBJETIVES

Provide trainees with technical-operational skills that enable them to safely and effectively use the self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) under NFPA® 1001: Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications, NFPA® 1404: Standard for Fire Service Respiratory Protection Training and the UK National Occupational Standard SFJ CFF01: Respond to operational incidents requiring breathing apparatus.

PROGRAM

  • Anatomy and physiology of breathing;

  • SCBA - operation and use;

  • Security procedures;

  • Simulated practices.

RECIPIENTS

  • Firefighters (minimum of firefighter rank);

  • Employees of companies that are part of second intervention teams (and who have already attended training in firefighting with equipment of second intervention).

−Advanced course in fire compartment extinguish (Flashover) * - 16 hours.

We suggest the joint frequency of training actions in Operations Management + Open Circuit Respiratory Isolating Operations (ARICA) + Advanced Course in Fire Extinguishments in Flashover = 5 consecutive days

- Operations Management* (8 hours)

GENERAL OBJETIVES

Provide trainees with technical-operational skills that enable them to lead urban fire-fighting operations involving a maximum of six teams.

PROGRAM

  • Operations Management System;

  • Exercises Simulation Center and Virtual Reality.

RECIPIENTS

  • Firefighters (minimum of firefighter rank);

  • Chiefs or coordinators of second intervention teams (who have already attended initial training in firefighting with equipment of second intervention).

These three training actions are intended for groups with a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 16 participants. We do not have individual registrations.
